Vu Dinh Son
Vu Dinh Son was born in 1970 in Tien Giang in the Mekong Delta area of Southern Vietnam. He graduated from the Ho Chi Minh Fine Arts University in 1998 and lives with his wife and daughter in Ho Chi Minh City.

Son has participated in group and solo exhibitions in Vietnam, New York, Hong Kong and Vancouver, BC and he is represented by galleries in Ho Chi Minh City, New York, Vancouver, Singapore, Hungary and Korea.

We are very pleased to bring Son's thoughtful works to Tokyo. Each painting tells a story that Son is looking forward to sharing with others so that we can better understand him and the culture that he holds dear.

"When I go to the countryside in the north of Vietnam, I am always impressed by the people who gather under temporary palm-leaf tents to sell and buy food, flowers or handicrafts ... Each of them wears a conical hat to protect themselves from the sunlight. Almost every village has several markets like this." Completed - 27-Jan-08

Toriizaka Art Home > Son claims to lead a very simple life. "I love painting and spend about six hours a day working in my studio. When I'm finished painting, I spend about an hour running and body building - I also play football two times a week with my team. I often travel around Vietnam to learn more about my country and apply it to my painting career. My most beloved is my daughter who is 3 years old and so talkative that she always makes me happy."
