Notes - Trinh Quoc Chien was born in Hanoi, Vietnam in 1966 and graduated from the Hanoi Fine Arts University in 1993.  He is a member of both the Vietnam Fine Arts Association and the Hanoi Fine Arts Association.

Chien completed a three month residency at the Vermont Studio Center in 1997 and has subsequently been featured in exhibitions in Vietnam, Beijing, Bangkok, Honolulu, Oakland (CA), and Golden (CO).  Most of his current works are lacquer but he continues to create a number of oil on canvas and silk paintings.  
Chien's works are held in museum collections in Japan, Canada and Australia as well as in numerous private collections.

Notes -  Hoang Nghia Hiep was born in 1958 and graduated from the Hanoi Fine Art Industrial University in the early 1980’s.  Upon completion of his undergraduate degee, he entered Russia’s most prestigious art school, Stroganove, in Moscow. He returned to Hanoi in 1991 with a Masters of Arts degree and is currently a professor of graphic design at the Hanoi Fine Art Industrial University.

Hiep’s latest work is a series of colorful landscape paintings inspired by countryside villages. His paintings are stylistically post impressionist and are characterized by the use of vibrant colors and thick oils.  Hiep pays a lot of attention to sunlight which warms the atmosphere of his paintings and creates depth and space.  His paintings depict the content and peace of village life and each work - whether depicting the morning in the northern mountains, afternoon in the highland villages or smoke from peasant kitchens disappearing into the sunset, is grounded in visions from his own experience.

Notes - Bui Huy Quang was born in 1965 in Nam Dinh Province in Vietnam and graduated from Hanoi's Industrial Art University in 2000. His main medium is oil on canvas.  Quang exercises remarkable skill and control with his brush, creating exquisitely detailed works.  His paintings of young Vietnamese women are characterized by a timeless, serene beauty.     

Quang has participated in numerous exhibitions in Vietnam and Hong Kong.  He received an award during his final year of study in 2000 for works exhibited at the Vietnam Fine Arts Association.
