Le Thanh Son was born in Hanoi in 1961 and is one of Vietnam’s most influential contemporary painters. With a career of over 40 years creating impressionist landscapes, Son has inspired many of Vietnam’s current artists, and continues to produce exceptional work. His canvases are covered in thick strokes of paint creating dimensionality through his use of light and shadow. Le Thanh Son’s extraordinary passion for Vietnam, it’s peoples, traditions and culture is shared through his paintings. His paintings are in many public and private collections including those of Bill and Hillary Clinton, Bill and Melinda Gates and members of the British Royal family.
