Mihagui (Robert Bouchin) - Previous Sales
Robert Bouchin (artistic name Mihagui) was a French / Vietnamese artist who used semi-abstraction in his representational paintings. He often used color instead of shape in depicting his landscapes which prompted his viewers to guess what each painting was about. Mihagui took great pride in the style, which he brought to Vietnam from France. “Many Vietnamese viewers advised me against the use of such intense colors, which might be too strong for Asian tastes. However, as an artist, I want to follow my heart and take the less-trodden path. He believed that “to be” was more important than “to have” and was very generous with his time and talents often donating his paintings to charities.
