Trinh Tuan (born 1961, Hanoi) graduated from the Hanoi Industrial Fine Arts College in 1985 and received his M.A. at Hanoi Fine Arts Institute in 2000. His lacquer paintings are aesthetically rich and his artwork evokes curiosity and interest. Whether two figures are joined in an embrace or depicted with their backs against each other, Tuan has a remarkable ability to tell a story about emotions - love, loneliness, and betrayal. Trinh Tuan is adored by his students and rightfully honored as one of the top lacquer artists in Vietnam.
